In September Yvon Choinard, Patagonia's CEO boldly named Earth their only stakeholder, adding"If we have any hope of a thriving planet - much less a business - it is going to take all of us doing what we can with the resources we have."
Together let's pool our resources and invest deeply in a climate resilient Pájaro Valley.
Your gift will:
Develop new young, local leaders
Build public awareness around environmental and social justice
Deepen community members' love for the natural world
Integrate art from local artists into local climate action awareness activities
Advance a local Just Transition off fossil fuels by increasing equitable access to transportation- and building-electrification for low-income residents
This year delivered many off the chart disasters, such as:
Historic flooding in Jackson, Mississippi and Eastern Kentucky and across the globe in Nigeria, Thailand, Pakistan and Vietnam
Hurricane Ian slamming into Cuba and Florida just days after Hurricane Fiona drenched Puerto Rico
In each of these disasters, low-income communities around the world took the hardest hit.
What we do in the next few years will affect outcomes for humanity for generations.
With your support Regeneración will continue expanding our capacity to serve our community.
In June we were selected to join the Federal Justice40 Accelerator Cohort, which supports climate and environmental justice organizations in building their capacity, partnerships and readiness to access government funding to implement community-designed solutions.
Through Justice40 we received a cash award and year-long technical assistance, including project management and grant writing support.
We secured a California Transformative Climate Communities grant to plan community-driven projects to reduce greenhouse gases in the area straddling the Pájaro River.
As a mother, I find that investing my time, money and caring in Regeneración has given me the energy I need to keep facing the challenges of a changing climate.
I have gained hope, inspiration and connections with others who care.
