We are proud to announce our upcoming candidate forum for Watsonville's City Council. We have chosen to center this forum on climate and equity to reflect our mission of responding to the climate emergency in a just and inclusive way.
The forum intends to provide the public with an opportunity to learn about the candidates and their views on the issues that are relevant to climate and equity in our community. The candidates will provide an opening statement and answer questions on a variety of topics including police funding, climate planning, and food security.
The forum will be moderated by Dr. Faris Sabbah, the Santa Cruz County Superintendent of Schools. The candidates include:
District 1: Eduardo Montesino*
District 2: Aurelio Gonzalez and Vanessa Quiroz-Carter
District 6: Jimmy Dutra and Tony Gomez
*Not yet confirmed as attending
The forum will be held on Wednesday, September 9th, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Zoom. The event will also be streamed live to Regeneracion’s Facebook and a Spanish interpretation call-in line will be available.
